  3. 1) From my research I got Studying Abraod Programs are very beneficial it promotes growth, it enhances academic learning ,and helps people learn a new language or better understand it.Also it can be that defining moment in your education that will change your life. Nothing will be same after you have studied abroad. Your perspectives will be global, your attitudes will be international. You can earn college credits abroad, and when you get out to look for a job it will show that you have a willingness and readiness to adapt to new environments. Also the ability to look at a project or situation from different perspectives, and have a good understanding of diverse cultures. It also shows you have self-confidence and an ability to take risks. Studying Abroad Programs is one of the best things a college student can take advantage of.

2)In the future I would love to do the Study Abroad Program in Italy or somewhere else, because it allows you to understand another culture first hand, provides the opportunity to travel, and its an effective way to learn a language. Also studying abroad can enhance the value of your degree.

    •Study Abroad Programs

The Study Abroad Program that I researched is the Semester at Sea program. Since 1963, the non-profit Institute for Shipboard Education has launched 100 Semester at Sea voyages, educated more than 50,000 students from 1,500 institutions, and traveled to more than 60 countries. Semester at Sea's mission is to educate individuals for leadership, service, and success in shaping our interdependent world. This program is interesting to me because if you participate in the program you can credits that are transferable to the university that you attend. This program also gives students the opportuinity to travel the world.

2.Which programs, would you be interested in participating in now or in the future?

The Semester at Sea program is one of the programs that I would be interested in within the next two years. The program that I am interested in particpating in now is the Disney College Program because it is a paid internship and I would like to spend my summer making money.

  6. The International Study Abroad Program is a program where you study fora summer, semester or acedemic year with CEA in Barcelona, Spain. The CEA's Global Campus is ideally situated to help students integrate the remarkable city's peole, places, and culture with their academic pursuits. It is also designed to provid active and experiential learning in whch the city of Bercelona is your classroom. There ar also many other places you could visit and study with the program.

I would be interested in particating in the Study Abroad Program because i could get the chance to travel aroundthe world and study at te same time. I would also enjoy particpating in the Co-op leaning Programs becausei provide sudents with experiences at home and abroad that help us develop the knowledge awareness, perspective, and ofidence to tranform our lives. We are able to alternate semesters o academic tudy with semesters of full-time employment in postitions related to our academic or career interests.

  7. 1. If I was interested in studying abroad, I would decide on the program and speak with an advisor. Using information from the book, I would first obtain knowledge from the first hand source; students that have studied abroad. I would ask them questions that I have always wondered and evaluate what they say. Aside from talking to my peers, I would also find out about finances for it and my health and safety while studying abroad.

    2. I would be interested in participating in the Study Abroad Program. If I was in a major that didn't require so much of my time further down the road, I would love to study in a different country. I think the experience would be not only a once in a lifetime event, but life changing as well.

  12. 1. Internships are programs that allow college students to work for free so you can learn information and task tactics for a possible position at your place of interning after college is complete. Most labor is for free or very little pay.

    2. I would be interested in interning in the programs that Dillard has to offer Nursing Majors. When I was advised, my advisor told me that they could send me to M.D. Anderson in Texas. I would really be interested in doing that.

  13. 1. To obtain an internship, you should pay attention to the following suggestions from Gettysburg College:
*Websites. A number of websites list internships. Find some great sites through our office or by doing your own search.
*Networking. Tell everyone you know that you are looking for an internship! That means family, friends, professors, past employers, anyone who will listen! It is estimated that 75% of available jobs are never advertised (same for internships!). If you tell 10 people what types of internship you are looking for, they each know 10 people then you could have up to 100 people helping you find a position! Read our Networking Bulletin to learn more.
*Employer Research. Put together a list of companies/organizations where you would like to work as intern. Get a list of potential employers from the phone book or the Chamber of Commerce website in your town! Visit employer websites and see if they have an internship program (may be listed on the Human Resources/Career page). Employers that do not have a formal internship program may be willing to sponsor an intern if asked!
*Apply & Interview. Applying for internships is very similar to looking for a full-time job. It is likely that you will send a resume and cover letter. Be sure that both of these documents are error-free and excellent representations of your skills and abilities. Employers may discard your application because of a careless spelling error! Send your application materials and then follow up with a phone call or stop by in person!
The internship interview should be treated with the same care and preparation as a you would an interview for a full-time job. Research the employer, practice answering interview questions, dress professionally, prepare questions to ask the interviewer, and follow-up with a thank you note.

    2. I am interested in participating in an internship because it will give me the chance to obtain research in my field of study and it will also allow me a chance to gain experience.

  16. Right and for the future I would go into a internship program. For a business major like me I need a head start in this world and a internship is a productive start. I could tryout for a 500 fortune company (depending on what university I go to and where I finish in my class rank) and try my hardest for them. Then, after I tryout, I would have a 6 fiqure job waiting for me went I gradute. This is why I would get a internship.

  31. 1)By definition internships are temporary positions where one (interns) emphasis on on-the-job training rather than merely employment, it’s actually similar to an apprenticeship. Interns are usually college or university students, but they can also be high school students or post graduate adults seeking skills for a new career. Internships provide opportunities for students to gain experience in their field and most importantly determine if they have an interest in a particular career. For employers internships provide cheap or free labor.

2)The program I’m most interested in is internship. Although this is true I would definitely consider studying aboard.

To obtain a internship, you must have a good grade point average, and be involved in organizations and groups on campus. Employers like well rounded students who can obtain a good grade point average and show their sociable side as well. Co-op learning programs are also known as cooperative/collaborative learning. Students work together in small groups on a certain activity. Both teachers and students may benefit from these type of programs.

    2. As of right now, I would be interested in studying abroad. For the past few years, I have had the opportunity of actually traveling to different countries and being in clinics and actually seeing different cases. I would especially like to study medicine in South Africa.

@shi'nece cockheran: studying abroad looks good on the resume as well, nonetheless, studying abroad may provide the same experiences as an internship. Although internships may be convenient seeing as how one might stay in the United States, Studying Abroad is a great way to get hands on experience in the desired field.

    1) An intership is an experience you get when you work for a company ,salary-free, in your field of studies to obtain work experience in it.

    2) Out of the options that are given I would most likely want to Study Abroad, because you get to travel, experience diffrent cultures and still study in your field while you are doing so.

  63. 1. The study aboard program that I researched and participated in is the Tall Ship Education Academy (TSEA). The Tall Ship Education Academy is an experiential sailing program for high school girls in the Bay Area. The program is a semester long and during that semester we receive school credit. We first learn the fundamentals of sailing at SF State, and then for 6-weeks we go sailing in the Caribbean visiting different islands and engaging with the locals, lastly we build a small boat at the Hyde St. Pier in San Francisco, CA. There are many study abroad programs out there but if you are interested you must first be committed in leaving your comfort zone to try something new. I strongly encourage everyone to try this at least once because you will be amazed the opportunities that are presented to you thereafter.

    2. I would be interested in participating in another sailing abroad program or study abroad program. Being on the water really challenged me in itself so I would prefer being on the water but in all in all I would definitely be participating in something like the Tall Ship Education Academy program again hopefully this summer.

  64. I would obtain and internship. I would do so by picking an intership that goes with the major I have in nursing or a non-profit organization such as Operation Hope.A non- profit that helps people start their own buisnesses, helps those with disaster relief, and money management.

1.)The intership can be very effective in the future, it allows the students to shadow a professional in their field of study. My major is bussiness management so studying abroad would increase the quality of my educaton for my career.

2.)interning would be very interesting and helpful. I could intern Coca Cola operation program for students.

    1. With a major in public health, I feel that a sudy abroad program would help me becuase I could learn like how diseases really affect the body and mobility of the body in like third world countries, sadly my major does not offer a study abroad program.

    2. A program I would be interested in participating in is the Melton Foundation because I love what they stand for.

To Jasmine Brandon how do you feel that studying abroad would help with your business management major?

    To Ellisia
I hope you get into the program, it seems like you really enjoyed it.

    To Bridget
I thought that you were already going to a summer biology program with the man who came and gave a lecture in lab one day.

  68. 1) Internships are always great, beacuase it alllows you to get hands on learning. Instead of reading about it or discussing, you are actually in the medical office for example if thats is what you wanted to do. In 11th grade we were forced to have internships for our advisory.

    2) In the future I would like to study abroad. Especially because I take spanish and my mother is from another country, it would be a good experience. I know that i would have to be like the ultimate student to be able to learn in another country, speaking another language.

  77. 1. Study Aboard Program is an acedmic internship in a differnt country during the summer, semester, or acedmic year where you can do studies in your field. It also enhances your ability to speak differnt languages and interact with differnt people and their cultures besides our own.

    2. I would like to participate in such activity but that's only if i wasn't in the nursing program.

Studying Abraod Programs are very beneficial it promotes growth, it enhances academic learning ,and helps people learn a new language or better understand it.Also it can be that defining moment in your education that will change your life.

I would be interested in participating in the Study Abroad Program. If I was in a major that didn't require so much of my time further down the road, I would love to study in a different country. I think the experience would be not only a once in a lifetime event, but life changing as well.

@Alexandria: When and if you get a chance in your college life you should definitely go and study abroad, it seems as if you want to really do it, i say you should.

@Zachary: you didnt fully answer either of the two discussion questions.
