Bloom's Taxonomy is the organization of different learning objectives instructors set for studetns. each level of the diagram builds upon the one below it. So as students knowledge of a particular subject or area increases, they move to the next level on the taxononmy diagram.

    2.
I always write down any formulas or key notes that will aid me in the exam..then i go through and answer all easy questions first than begain the harder questions. I also do my multiple choice questions before my short answers becasue many times the multiple choice may help with the short answer questions.

Bloom's Taxonomy is the organization of different learning objectives instructors lay out as guides for students. As each level in the daigram increases information added, therefore understanding the basics is neccessary in order to advance. This concept of learning and working must be applied in my studies as a Biology major.

I write down any formulas or key notes that will aid me in my exam. Then I answer all of the easy questions first, then move on to the harder examination questions. I also tend to answer multiple choice questions before my short answer questions, because ususally the multiple choice questions can be of some assistance in the short answer.

  5. 1. My understanding of Bloom's Taxonomy is that there are six different levels that people reach when being able to completely understand and use material that they have learned. I use the levels in my studies because I have to first be able to listen, then understand, then apply and analyze. Only then can I develop new ideas as far as my work is concened.

    2. Some stratgies that I use or will use to prepare for testing are studying and reading the material, getting a good rest the night before, and making sure that I carefuly read and understand everything that is being asked of me.

  9. Christopher Ragas,

    1. My understanding of Bloom's Taxonomy is that there are three types of learning which are cognitive for knowledge skills, affective dealing with your attitude toward emotional scenarios, and psychomotor which are just physical skills. There are six levels also. I use the six levels to study by having common background knowledge of the situation and comprehending new information that I'm unfamiliar with. Then I apply the two together to help myself solve questions such as why does a process occur which is also using my analyzing skills. I then make my synthesis and evaluation which just interprets the given information into "Chris language."

    2. Some strategies I always to prepare for a test are comprehension, knowledge, analysis, and evaluation. Something I might start to try more is application.

  10. 1. My understanding of Bloom's Taxonomy is that there are different ways people learn and comprehend things.
    2. I go through the chapters being tested and make my own questions then go back and answer them. Multiple Choice:use process of elimination. Short Answer: Don't pay attention to how long the lines are. Essay: Make sure it is on topic and make sure it does not have repetition.

  11. 1. Bloom’s Taxonomy is a helpful tool to help s think about the steps in learning which, consists of six levels. The six levels are Evaluation, Synthesis, Analysis, Application, Comprehension, and Knowledge.

    2. The three testing type I use would be:
    A. Multiple Choice: rule out the ridiculous answers and pick the best one that fit’s the question.
    B. Short Answer: make sure you know information on the subject
    C. Essay: get straight to the point because writing more is not always the best thing to do.

  12. 1. Blooms Taxonomy suggests that you cant effectively Do higher level learning until those below them have been covered. So, you cant comprehend something til you have knowledge of it, you cant be evaluated on something you cant comprehened ect. And i use it in my studies by trying to have some knowledge of and understanding of the material in a class before the indtructor issues a test.

    2. On matching questions - Read both columns before i begin answering, True-false - watch for keywords, Short answer - Be brief in my response

  13. 1. Bloom's Taxonomy to me is basically describing the different levels of critical thinking from highest to lowest and how they can help you study. I still dont see how it could help me during studying but it could help me during a test or homework. As long as I use the process stated in Bloom's Taxonomy I should be able to answer more questions intelligently depending on my level of critical thinking.

    2. The exact same thing Tyrin said. For multiple choice rule out the answer dont finalize your answer if you havent read them all. Short answer make sure you know about the subject you are speaking on. But I always use the matching strategy making sure the number of choices is equal to the number of questions. Sometimes there are more choices which means some of them are wrong and you have to refer back to the multiple choice strategy of ruling them out if you dont know the answer to a particular one.

  14. Bloom's Taxomy is the classification levels of intellectual behavior important in learning or in more simple terms the different levels at which you learn to retain information. The usage of the six levels of Bloom's Taxonomy are as follows:
    1. Remember-recall and remmeber information
    2. UNDERSTAND-exlpain ideas and concepts
    3. APPLY-use the information in a new way
    4. ANALYZE- distinguish the different parts
    5. EVALUATE- justify a stand or decision
    6. CREATE- create new product or point of view

Some different strategies that I intend on using to prepare for the test is to utilize my resources by taking advantage of student support services. Outline information that I am unfamiliar with in order to grasp a better understanding of the material taught these past few weeks. I am going to use my free time more wisely and be productive in my studying habits whether ina group or individually.

  15. 1.Bloom's Taxonomy is a classification of 6 steps that categorize different levels of learning. As perspective and understanding change, you advance to the next level. I can use this in my studies to help me with improving the way I receive the information presented in class.
2.If it is multiple choice, I simply look over my notes. If it is essay, then I concentrate on specific dates, times, and points. If it is math or vocabulary, I create flash cards using index cards.

Bridget: I actually attempt the hard questions first because I am confident that I can get the easier questions so I don't have to stress them as bad.

Adrienne: I also use process of elimination a lot. You just have to still be able to make an educated guess.

Ellissia: I also outline my notes because it makes it easier to review after class.

1)From my understanding Bloom’s Taxonomy is basically explaining six different levels in which people go through to completely comprehend information. The levels are remember: recall information, understand: explain ideas, apply: use info in new ways, analyze: distinguish the different parts, evaluate: justify a decision, and create: create a new view point.

2)Some of the test taking strategies I plan to use on future tests are, arrive at the testing area 15 minutes early, read questions completely, and avoid spending a lot of time on questions I’m unsure of.

#1) My understanding OF "Bloom's TAXonomy" is the levels of thought needed to succeed in college. Understanding and retaining the information aren't the only things needed to pass an exam, but being able to apply it, use it, learn from it, and formulate my own hypothesis from it is also apart learning.

#2) a: "short answer exams"- don't allow the number of lines to fool you, and most of the time, the answer to the questions is verbatim out of the book or something your professor has redundantly said.
b: "multiple choice exams"- immediately cancel out the answer that it OBVIOUSLY wrong, then you have a 75% chance of getting it right, and also cancel out the answers that use broad generalizations like, "ALL, NEVER,ALWAYS"
C: "ESSAY EXAMS"- UNDERSTAND BLOOMS TAXONOMY

*Matching- read both sides carefully, be careful in matching up correct items
    * Short Answer- answer the question asked and refrain from digressing too much or simply repeating the question in a statement form.
In addition to this, general and helpful test-taking strategies include, reviewing notes, eating a hearty meal prior to,study groups and peer quizes, going to the teacher for extra tutoring and assistance, and actually comprehending the information rather than simply tring to memorize it.

  45. 1. Bloom's Taxonomy was created by Benjamin Bloom for categorizing and classifying levels of intellectual learning that commonly occur in the classroom setting. The six levels of Bloom's Taxonomy are from top to bottom: Evaluation, Synthesis, Analysis, Application, Comprehension, and Knowledge. I have not been implementing the six levels of Bloom's Taxonomy in my studies but I plan to start using them. I will definitely be able to enhance my writing skills by using the six steps when I am writing research papers for and English and AWS, and when taking essay exams in U.S. History.

    2. One strategy I use to prepare for tests is studying right before the test so that the information is fresh in my mind. I also create mnemonic devices to help me remember subjects that may be lengthy or confusing.
Three testing types that I can provide strategies for are matching questions, true-false questions, and multiple-choice questions. For matching questions the strategy I use is to match the answers that I know are correct first, and come back to the ones I don't know later. For true-false questions the best strategy I can suggest is to answer all the questions even if you are not sure of the answer because you have a 50% chance of answering correctly. With multiple-choice questions there are several strategies I use. The first is to eliminate answers that are obviously wrong. The second is to read the question and answer it before looking at the given answers. Lastly, look for similar answers; one of them is usually the correct answer.

One person make be weak in Algebra and strong in English. Since I am strong in Algebra and weaker in english we can both help each other.

    @ De'ja Hawkins

You are right about getting rest before I test. Most of the time I stay up late the night before studying for an exam and I feel groggy and tired when it is time for the test. I need to work on getting more rest on test days.

    @ Christopher Ragas

1.What is your understanding of Bloom’s Taxonomy? How do you use the six levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy in your studies?

1.Knowledge: used in observation and to recall information, knowledge of dates, events, places, and knowledge of major ideas and mastery of subject matter.

2.Comprehension:used in understanding information and to grasp meanings, translate knowledge into new context, interpret facts, compare, contrast, order, group, infer causes, and predict consequences.

    3. Application: use information, methods, concepts, and theories in new situations, and also to solve problems using required skills or knowledge.

4.Analysis:used in seeing patterns, the organization of parts, the recognition of hidden meanings , and identification of components.

5.Synthesis: uses old ideas to create new ones generalized from given facts, and relate knowledge from several areas, helps with predictions and drawing conclusions.

6.Evaluation: compares and discriminates between ideas, assess value of theories, presentations, and makes choices based on reasoned arguments from verify value of evidence, while helping to recognize subjectivity.

Each of these six levels are used in my studies by helping me to point out what essentially i need to study, and how to study each topic.

The test types i enjoy are multiple choice, matching, and true false. I say that because all of these types gives some sort of ideal as to what is or is not looked for and also has a greater percentage rate for me to get it right as opposed to short answer or essay questions.

  61. My understanding of Bloom's Taxonomy is that it is a pyramid of learning styles that allow people to understanding different learning styles of understanding. You can use the 6 levels in different forms. The levels allow you to study, read, think critically and comprehend to lessons learned. Its different levels are understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, remembering and creating. I can use this while studying and completing assignments.
I am an n active note taker. So in the time needed to review my notes, I just rewrite them for further understanding.

Using the six levels of Bloom's Taxonomy in my studies: I don't use them to often, but I will use them more.

    2. Some strategies I will use to prepare for test: I will get a good night sleep. To prepare for matching questions, I will read the directions carefully and use the longer statementas a question; use the shorter statement as an answer. To prepare for the multiple-choice questions, I will read the question and try to answer it before reading the answer choices, look for similar answers, recognize that answers containing extreme modifiers, etc. To prepare for shor-answer questions, I will make sure I understand what is being asked, answer briefly, give the same number of answers as there are blanks, look for key words that might trigger a response, and never assume that the length of the blank has anything to do with the length of the answer.
