1.My Preparedness for mid-term exams is at a minimum.i hardly have any.The only one i do have is for math, and thats stressful enough.I still have exams and quizzes though.
2.The advice i would give to a freshman about mid terms is dont procrastinate and dont get distracted so easily. The time you spend doing other things could go towards studying and making the grade.
#1) My preparedness for Mid-Term Exams is overprepared. When you attend your classes regularly, take good notes and engage in classroom discussions, and get help when you don't understand something, then there's no reason why you should pull your hair out trying to study at the last minute for these exams (metaphor :). Studying isn't something that I need to dwell upon this week, because I've done all of the above. It's the reward you get when you do what you are supposed to do, and stay on top of everything.
1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams. I’ve been doing well in my classes thus far, so im not really nervous about my exams. I will continue to use the same method of studying that I have been using for previous quizzes and test. For those teachers that provided a study guide for the test, I completed it and I am doing a review of not only that, but my book and notes as well. I think I will be prepared as much as possible when the time comes to take my exams. 2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give new freshmen about being successful on those exams. So far, I have only taken my African World Studies and Anatomy exam. For an incoming freshman, I would highly suggest re-reading your notes and your book, thoroughly. Also, check with other students and compare your notes; it may be something that one of you is missing. I would also suggest reflecting back on previous test and noticing how your teacher composes tests and the method of grading the teacher uses. This helped me as I was not only studying, but taking the test as well. Another important tip would be not to try and cram all of the material in at once and get a good night’s sleep the night before. Going to take an exam restless or nervous will only bring upon anxiety, which will not help you test well.
1. To prepare for my midterms, I simply review all notes and equations that the teacher has informed me I will need for the examination. 2. So far I have not taken a midterm. My first one is tomorrow and I can already tell an incoming freashman to avoid waiting until the last minute. They should definitely talk to their professor and get as much help and advice as possible.
Alexandria: A study guide is very helpful. Some classes definitely need one when a lot of material has been covered.
Lyniece: Staying on top of your game during the semester definitely has its own reward.
Johnathan: You are absolutely correct. The time you spend doing something else can be used for studying and save you the stress that follows waiting to the last minute.
1. I'm not really prepared for mid-terms. Everytime I go to study I never do. Mid-terms are a waste of time. A lot of my teachers are making up assignments out of thin air just because the university says they have to. Everyone is inconvenienced and I will probably get around to studying a couple of hours before I'm scheduled to test.
2. So far I've taken the midterm for this class. My other classes are coming later on this week; far later than this discussion is supposed to be complete. It wasn't hard, not even almost. Therefore, I would advise a new freshman not to try to take a take-home exam without using all of his or her resources
Johnathan: I agree, if you have a real exam, you shouldn't procrastinate.
Lyniece: It's true, you should also try to remain over prepared. That's the way of life; overpreparedness (I probably made that word up) makes people feel good. Keep it up.
1.) For mid-terms all I do is study hard. I get prepared by gathering all of my notes, breaking out the books and just studying hard.
2.)Advice I would give a freshman is to not CHEAT! Study as hard as you can...don't give up because I know you would want to.Be prepared ahead of time, talk to your instructors. Also to stay focused doing the test don't let anything distract you from taking your test. And last but not least get lots of rest.
1. My thoughts of midterms was that i'm kinda nervous and unprepared. The way i prepared was to study and to relax and be confident. 2. The advice that i would give an freshman about midterms would be to study all material.
1. I felt confident about midterms. I took time to relax and study. 2. The advice I would give to a freshman is continue to study even if youare done with a chapter.
I agree with Lashonda B I talked to my professors, and that took alot of stress of me. I knew exactly what to study and in some classes I didn't have a midterm.
1.My Preparedness for mid-term exams was long sleepy days of studying. I got prepared by studying all of my notes and wrote some of my own notes al well. I studied for about 8-9 hours a day and now I'm tried of this semester already. 2.As far math midterm goes, all freshman should take Ms. Epps because, she hustles for all students in her class to make A's. Her midterm was easy and most useful for the finals. Second, was the DU exam, if I failed that exam, it was an openbook test. We had so long to it and regards to the test it was easy(mostly common sense). So, to up and coming freshmans, no advice, it's a openbook midterm.
1)My preparedness for midterm was to study. I do most of my studying right before I head to the my class so what information I need to know is fresh on my brain. Then I hope for the best.
2)My advice to a new feshman would be to pay attention in school and don't joke around all day and expect your grades to be impressive.Manage your life and time, have your priorities right because if you din't it can bite you in the backside. It is not easy like highschool was you have to work 20 times harder.
I agree with Jonathan Watson a new freshman should not procrastinateand get easily distracted becasue I've been going through it as a of late and now I have low grades.Lyniece I reall like what you said about engaging in classroom discussion I really think that would probably help me and new freshman, questions are good!.I also like what Zachary said all new freshman should tkae Ms. Epps she is the best and I really like her class. She does try to help you get the best grade you can, good advice Zachary.
I was really scared going into to midterm but I made it. I really didn't any to many midterm like I thought I would've. I really didnt prepare myself the way i should have. I really didn'tt study but my class will tell. One midterm I took was so hard I was pulling my hair out another midterm which I took today I didn't take it serious because it was a computer midterm which my grade showed it. One advice that I would give a new freshman is to take everything serious don't be like me.
1)Midterm exams were not bad for me. I have only two classes which midterms. In other classes, I was given quizzes and exams. I prepared for the exams and quizzes by simply reporting to class daily and studying the material.
2)The advice I would give to freshman would be to never underestimate midterm exams. It can affect your grade tremedously. So study hard and do not procrastinate.
1.Well i think i was pretty prepared for all of my exams except for my chemistry exam, for reasons that i have included in my journal. But i was semi stressed about it but luckily there was no special test it was just the regular test we would have been taken if it wasnt midterm week. , so that made me extra happy :)
2.Ok 1st i would say study extra extra hard for the chemistry exam because its a killer, the practice problems dr. caston will gove you, you'll breeze through but that test is something else like real talk ITS A B word lol. 2nd just study early so you dont have to stress it later and cram, i mean cramming may have worked in high school when you only had one or two test a week in dif classes but when you have test in all your classes and havent mastered spreading your study time its a horrible idea so stay on point early.
1.) Being that I have not been consistent in my work I have managed to fall off track. Now as I am preparing for mid-terms I find myself in a tight bind trying to catch up in my classes and study for my midterms. My thoughts at this time are, how can I pull this off? Where do I start in making sure I obtain a good grade in all of my classes? What does my schedule need to look like in order to make this goal realistic? Why did I wait so long, and many more things? 2.) So far I have taken a midterm in Spanish and Biology. For Spanish I was really behind and not comprehending the material very well so I am unsure about that mid-term I will just have to wait and see. For Biology she is a hard grader and no seems to get over a “C” in her class so I will be quite lucky, I just have to stay on top of my homework and make sure I do her labs in order to stay on track. ADVICE: - Don’t wait until the last minute to try and cram or your mid-term it will only stress you out more. Do what you can and hope and pray that it was good enough. - Make sure you know where you stand with your instructors in order for you to know where you will stand in the class if you do good or bad on the exam. - Last but not least, if you are like me and waited to the last minute to get your business straight make a plan with your EFF in order confirm you get back on track and now have a plan to get on course and stay there.
I agree with the majority. It's true that if you stay on top of your work, take good notes, and go to your professor’s office hours, you won't have much to worry about when it comes to mid-terms.
Midterms were fairly easy to me; nothing that was given to me was unexpected. The things that were on my midterm were either taught to me in high school or I’ve seen it before previously. My study habits aren’t too good so I studied at a mediocre level. There was one midterm that I didn’t even study for; African World Studies. I didn’t study for that test because I felt like the Professor didn’t teach to her full ability. Once again that should have been my responsibility to stop her and ask questions and get clarification which I didn’t, so I took it upon myself to say that, “If I don’t know it now chances are I won’t know it in two days.” With that mind set I didn’t attempt to give it a try. AWS was the only test that I bombed on. I do get an opportunity to raise my grade up so I will put in the work required.
2. Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshman about being successful on those exams.
African world studies: I would say don’t let yourself get too far ahead to the point where you start to just forget about the class, and stop paying attention. Ask questions constantly. If you need additional help go your professor’s office hours. Take good notes.
Math: I would say go to TUTORING, it helps. Math isn’t a easy subject so I would suggest that you takes good notes copy down all the examples as well.
I feel as though I was not fully prepared for some of my midterms. I should have studied a bit earlier for them so that I wouldn’t be as nervous as I was when taking my midterms. I think I did ok on them but I could have done much better.
My Math test was kind of easy but I made careless mistakes that I shouldn’t have made. I also think my Critical Analysis test was easier than I expected it to be because I prepared myself for it. Freshmen should spend as much time as they can studying. They should talk to their professor and get help when they need it. They shouldn’t let anything distract them are get in the way of the test, stay focused.
1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams.
To me mid term exams were nerve wrecking and took alot of studying,i couldn't wait to get them over with.
2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams.
Most importantly is to read and study for all science mid terms they are not a joke and are definitely not easy! my bio mid-term went very well but my chemistry one i am not as confident about as i was about my bio one think i needed a bit more study time!!
1. For two of my midterms, test we took in the past were counted as midterms. They were for my physical science and U.S. history classes. I made a B on the science midterm and an A on the history midterm and I was very happy with my grades. The only midterm I took this week was AWS. I was determined to make an A so I spent about 5 or 6 hours studying and it paid off because I made an A! Im so excited and proud of myself.
2.On the U.S. history midterm, the best advice I can give is to READ THE TEXT of whatever book the exam is going to cover. It is extremely hard to answer to essay questions about a book that u have not read. As far as the AWS midterm goes, all you have to do is STUDY! All the material on the test came directly from the study guide. If you review the study guide, you will do extemely well.
I find it interesting that you are the only person who got all of your studying out of the way. Please share your unique methods of studying.
@ Destiny
Don't be afraid to speak up and tell Ms. Harrison if you need extra help. She is a wonderful person and I am sure she will be more than willing to assist you.
@Chillia
You made feel bad because your study habits were not as good as some people's but at least you know what your mistakes were. This will give you the opportunity to fix the problem you are having.
1. I feel like I did well on my midterms because I was prepared. I only had 2, so I wasn't very hard to study for them. I was also prepared because I didnt wait to the last minute to make sure I knew the material. 2. For Gen Chem exam, make sure you workout problems for practice. Chemistry is just like math except you have to know definitions as well. So study chemistry as you would math. And for Anatomy midterm make sure you know and understand all words. You can make flash cards for this.
1. I feel that i was highly prepared for all of my midterms. I prepared for all of my midterms by rereading all of my notes and rereading all of the chapters that we went over in that particular class.
2. My math midterm was the easiest test I ever took in my life, I had test harder then this in high school. My midterm for AWS was very challenging, but if you study you should be able to pass it. My advice for new freshmen on exams, is to make sure that they study everything and don't try to study the night before or the morning of and think that you are going to make an A.
1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams.
2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams
1. My thought on midterms is that its the biggest reflection on what we have learned so far in school and how we are doing living on campus away from our parental usual guidance. I prepared for my midterms by studying very hard. Most of my time went to studying and I had to go through most of my paperwork from all year.
2. DU- midterm was the easiest as long as you pay attention in class and do the work. Best advice: GET A BOOK! SHARE YOUR ANSWERS WITH FRIENDS! AND DOUBLE CHECK!
African World Studies: hard, hard, hard exam seems like no matter what you do. My best advice for this exam would be to put in the 6 hours a week. I know it seems a little unrealistic but it is the ONLY WAY!!!
1. my thoughts on the Mid-terms is that it shows you what a person has learned over the pass weeks. i prepared for the Mid-term by studying extemely hard and sometimes i may have fell off track but i manage to pull through.
2. DU SEMINAR i would have to say is the easiest test that i ahve ever taken in my life. yet i still have to be cautious because even though it's a take home test you can still fell the exam.
Now, the AWS exam on the other hand was overbearing. that test is late nights and early mornings. all i can say is study, study, study
1. Midterms are an assessment of what one has learned in a particular subject area during a period of time. Although I studied and prepared for midterms ans best I could, the fact that I got into a few of my classes late may have some effect on my grades. Because of this, I am a bit worried.
2.The D.U Seminar test was a bit easy. It was basically what we should have read. Advice: Read what you are required to read.
College Algebra: went fairly well, I probaby could have done better but I believe I did well.
1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams.
I prepared more for some mid - terms then I did for others. I wish I would have studied more for all of them.
2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams. Study, study, study plaese study and what ever they do do not wait last minute to try and study because I promise they will not do all that well. If they have a percratination problem they should fix that now while they are in still in high school because it will hurt them in college.
1.) I reviewed practice problems for chemistry class. In biology I went over my notecards and for AWS I read a few selections to reinforce what I learned in class. 2.) Advice that I would give to a freshman is to not wait until the last minute and try to cram for everything because you will probably ned up doing poorly on everything. Also I would advise a freshman to ask their teachers whats going to be on the exam and ask any further questions that you dont understand.
1. I studied every chance that I had. You could never over learn something, you would just get a better understanding of it. You would first need to find out whta the exam is covering from your instuctor. It would benefit you to read the chapters and not just study your notes continously.
2. The DU midterm was fairly easy. If I didnt have a book it would have been a bit difficult. I advice all freshman to read there books and do all assignments that their instructor ask correctly. Alot of students complain that we do not use our books in class, but it is your responsibility to read the chapters on your own and do any end of the chapter assignments. You should do this to stay on top, instructors will not teach you like your high school teachers.
1.)In preparing for midterm week, i definetly got in sleep as much as i could and reviewed all my work that wasn't done. I also studied what was required to be studied for the exams. My classes and I asked each teacher what was going to be on the midterm exams. That helped a lot.
1.)If you are an incoming Theater major, i suggest that you take notes from day one. Good notes will guarantee your success in class and on exams like the midterm. Look over your notes every chance you get and not when you feel like it. Maybe try to look over them before you go to bed at night.
1)Going over the midterm materials on a regular basis I begin fully understanding the information. As a result of understanding the materials I was confident that I would pass each of my exams.
2)Two advices I would give to an incoming freshmen is: (1) Never try cramming before exams (2) And even if you feel you know the information that will be on the exam continue going over it. After all there’s no crime in over learning information.
1) To prepare for midterms i studied and reviewed all material from the beginning of the semester.
2)I would tell incoming freshman to work hard in the beginning of the semester, to make easier the transition versus trying to study and work at the end of the semester/year. And also tell him/her that its okay to be socially diversified on campus. You don't have to sit at the same table and talk only to the same people day in and day out. Network, Socialize, get to know people, and allow people to get to know you. you never know what experiences you might be blessed with, just by talking with someone new.
1. To prepare for my mid-term exams I really didn't do anything drastic, I just went over my notes and asked classmates for help such as how to solve a math problem. Other than that, I was pretty lazy in preparing for exams.
2. For being successful on the computer science exam, though it was open book I would suggest to look for every answer because though you may think you know an answer, you can be wrong. When dealing with college algebra you should get tutoring in areas that you know you are kind of shady at least a few days to a week ahead of the exam.
1) I wasn't to prepared for my mid terms, I studied but the things I didn't understand I didn't use my resources I shouldve went to my teachers during there office hours and got help so I could get a better understanding of certain topics
2) I would tell a new freshman use the resources Dillard offers you, meet with your teachers during there office hours, for chemistry I would tell them use their printed notes if you have Miss.Caston and read your chemistry book and go through the examples, they have step by step guides and for english use annotating when you don't understand a reading presented it helps you to comprehend better.
Mid-Term Exams for me where sort of easy. Basically what you needed to do was study, study, study. If you didnt study then it would be hard. For one of my exam was itwas hard but i managed to get pass the hard part.
2.The advice I would give a freshmen is to study and read. Read the chapter over and over again and review your notes.
1) I was prepared for midterms. Most of my classes had review sessions that week in order to make sure the students pass. Therefore midterm week was easy in a sense.
2) I will tell freshman that they need to study ahead of time. Don't wait unitl the last minute.
1. For mid-terms I plan to study hard and effectively.
2.My AWS mid-term is going to be the hardest exam and I do not believe that I am well prepared for it. I think that I am going to ace my biology mid-term
To De'ja Laure' Hawkins, i do agree with what you said about that you should have went talked to your teacher. And i understand where your coming from when you say you study but didnt really understand.
To Christopher Ragas i agree with your stratgy in reading & going over your notes
1. I was somewhat prepared for my mid-terms but I could have done better in being prepared. Instead of waiting the week before exams to study I should study at least two weeks proir. 2.My hardest exam that I took was the AWS exam for Professor Sanyika. The only advice I could give to a freshman to successfully pass that exam is to study at least 3 hours daily for the class. It is the only way you will easily attain all the information for the course. The second exam I could give advice on is the biology exam. Do not put other subjects aside, such as biology, to study for bigger test. You will find yourslef unprepared for these exams.
preperation for my midterms was alot of stduying and tutoring with my teachers for math and for spanish one thing i can say to new freshmen is dont wait to late to get your tutoring done
angell i beleive that studying hard three times a day is a good idea. also when you study make sure it is a enviroment that is comfortable with no distractions
1) My preparedness for my mid-term is make sure I understand all the information a day before the test. I plan to study or work with someone that can help with something I may need help with.
2)MY first mid-term exam was really easy new freshmens should make sure they have all their books and supplies they may need for all class. Having those supplies would really help with your work and test because you will need for take home test mostly.
1. Preparation for midterms begins before the first day of class. You've got to be doing the assigned readings and coming to class and taking notes. There are different study strategies, but I find it's most important to keep up with the requirements one day and one week at a timeso that when midterms come around you're already familiar with the material.
2. I took a few midterms this week and I did best in African World Studies and American History. I did well on them because I'm a good reader, and because these classes actually held my interest, so the reading was easier, and I had questions in class that I genuinely wanted answered. If I hadn't already been a good reader, or if I wasn't already interested in the material, I would have had to do much more tedious studying to get a good grade.
1)Mid- terms was not as stressful as i thought.I think that i could have done better.
2)AWS and English was the to that i was nervous about.Mid Term exams was an eye opener to many freshmens.I think that it is best to go and talk to your teachers about the course.
1)Mid- terms was not as stressful as i thought.I think that i could have done better.
2)AWS and English was the to that i was nervous about.Mid Term exams was an eye opener to many freshmens.I think that it is best to go and talk to your teachers about the course.
1.) As midterm week approached, i became slightly anxious, not knowing what to expect, yet and still i remained focus and studied my material and most of my outcomes were what i wanted or better.
2.) I would encourage new freshman not to takje this period lightly at all.I woiuld try to get them to understand that passing midterms with a good grade is very critical, and the worse you do during midterm, the harder you would havce to work just to pass a course, let alone get an A or B.
1) When midterms came i was scared and began to doubt my abilities, moreso becuase i do not enjoy taking tests. I constantly reviewed and read over my materials to prepare myself for the tests. 2)I would encourage freshman to begin studying and looking at test materials way before the test comes.
1. I was born ready for my midterm. I study every single day so i know the majority of the material that is going to be on the midterms.
2. A really important midterm was my math and english midterm. In order to utilize time for my math midterm I needed to understand the formulas and how to use them before I started the midterm. My english paper required a great deal of focus during class and out of class. My best advice for incoming freshman would be to make sure to study new material each and every day to make sure it is comprehended and retained for later use in life.
1.) As mid-terms approached I really didnt know what to expect so i ws somewhat excited to take my first college midterms. I basically when over my notes and everything we did in class. Staying focus and strving for a A was my main motivation.
2.Some tips to freshman on taking exams:
1. Don't be nervous 2. Think of it as another test 3. Study but not to much; to much studying can lead to failure
first of all:: i agree with bidget on everything...basically you should study from the beginning of the year...and socializing with collegues is also a great thing because you never know who you would walk across...maybe the person you been looking for the whole time just by socializing with pthers...questions asked and answers has been answerd
discussion answers 1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams. Mid-terms...o buddy...i studied and studied and when i got my midterms back...it was worth studying...i had a spanish composition and i earned my A, english was an essay and recieved a B, and math, du901, and biology i dnt kno yet...but my grades for misterms was okay...u can never over study your given materials...nd ask the professor what the test will be on...
2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams.
Don't stress...and if you was on task from day one...you have nothing to worry about...du901 was easy, it was a take home midterm...i did it on my own and then confirmed with friends to see if the had my answers...and for my written composition...i knew what i was talking about...
i agree with dominique bryant she had some very valid points.
1) i put midterms don the back burner and tried to get through them just on memory alone 2) i suggest that no one does this ! i did it in high school and i was able to get by college is an entirely different playing field
1. Make sure you study and know your material so you don't get stressed. 2. Pay attention in class and take notes and don't be too over confident because you'll make silly mistakes.
1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams. I believe I am ready for my midterms because I feel confident about the material.
2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams. I think my hardest exam will be for English. I am not the quickest or best writer especially under pressure and I'm unsure about Chemistry because I don't know what is exactly on the test.
1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams.
I will be in the library and stuck in my room training my brain for the days of my tests. Good strategies for getting good grades on the test is to study in advance, make sure you have a good eight hours of sleep, make sure u eat a gud breakfast so u dont be hungry during the test.
2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams.
I belive in studying even if you dont want to study for a test. Study for a good 3 4 hours a subject every day cause you need time to just focus on one thing. Dont allow your friends to omit you in getting a good night sleep...
1.In my honest opinion, going into a midterm is like going into a test. if you study the right material effectively you will pass the exam without any problems.
2. For both my geography and my History exam i studied, but in different ways. in geography i cram the material not grasping the concepts of the material withing the information and because of that i got a craming grade. in global past i studied effectivly and retained the information, and because of that i past. that goes to show that the way you study has an effect on your test grades. study with study groups, only if they are effective and on task. midterm exams are just test wit a big scary name, dont be afraid of them.
1. For mid terms, all of my small classes are very easy to study for. I usually have trouble wit math. So I try to visit my tutor as much as possible so that I can understand what is being taught in class and so that i can be prepared when a quiz or test comes around.
2. I would tell a new freshman to focus and to know when its time to work and when its time to have fun. I would also tell them to study hard and to never procrastinate.
man mid terms damn near killed me. i remember studying for four hours straight so i can have a decent midterm grade on the midterm test. for math i went to Mr. Raki for three days a week. For spanish i went to tutoring every day. for the new freshman you prepare ahead and dont wait until you are about to fail and then decide to hurry and get your stuff together.
1. My prepardness for midterms was not as good as I thought I did not achieve the grades I expected or thought I would recieve. I think I should of studied a lot harder.
2. Advice I would give a new freshman is to STUDY HARD also go to tutoring and get close to your professors they are there to helpful. As well as take advantage of all the respources available thats what your tution is paying for.
to prepare for my mid terms i pretty much just went over all the material that had been covered so far. the advice i would give a new freshman is to just relax and dont get all worked up over your test because then you'll bomb them.
1. To prepare for my midterms, I tried to stay as calm as possible because I know that I can get very stressed out when it comes to testing. I went over all my notes and previous tests thoroughly the night before and the morning of each exam. 2. Dont let the test take you! Stay calm and focus. The test may not be as difficult as you may think. If you follow the material given in class daily, the tests will be a breeze.

ReplyDeleteI’ve been doing well in my classes thus far, so im not really nervous about my exams.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete2.
Keep it up.
Alex: You are a speaker of the truth.
Lashonda B.
ReplyDelete1.) For mid-terms all I do is study hard.
ReplyDelete2. The advice that i would give an freshman about midterms would be to study all material.
1. I felt confident about midterms. I took time to relax and study.
ReplyDelete2. The advice I would give to a freshman is continue to study even if youare done with a chapter.
I agree with Lashonda B I talked to my professors, and that took alot of stress of me. I knew exactly what to study and in some classes I didn't have a midterm.
ReplyDelete1.My Preparedness for mid-term exams was long sleepy days of studying. I got prepared by studying all of my notes and wrote some of my own notes al well. I studied for about 8-9 hours a day and now I'm tried of this semester already.
ReplyDelete2.As far math midterm goes, all freshman should take Ms.
I agree Lashonda B., to make this money after college you're going to have to study hard at all costs-Point,Blank,Period.
ReplyDeleteRayon Landry
ReplyDelete1)My preparedness for midterm was to study.
Rayon Landry
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jonathan Watson a new freshman should not procrastinateand get easily distracted becasue I've been going through it as a of late and now I have low grades.Lyniece I reall like what you said about engaging in classroom discussion I really think that would probably help me and new freshman, questions are good!.I also like what Zachary said all new freshman should tkae Ms.
ReplyDeleteOne midterm I took was so hard I was pulling my hair out another midterm which I took today I didn't take it serious because it was a computer midterm which my grade showed it. One advice that I would give a new freshman is to take everything serious don't be like me.
This is LaMegan...
ReplyDelete1)Midterm exams were not bad for me.
ReplyDelete2.Ok 1st i would say study extra extra hard for the chemistry exam because its a killer, the practice problems dr. caston will gove you, you'll breeze through but that test is something else like real talk ITS A B word lol.
ReplyDelete2.) So far I have taken a midterm in Spanish and Biology.
ADVICE:
- Don’t wait until the last minute to try and cram or your mid-term it will only stress you out more.
ReplyDeleteMidterms were fairly easy to me; nothing that was given to me was unexpected.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteMy Math test was kind of easy but I made careless mistakes that I shouldn’t have made. I also think my Critical Analysis test was easier than I expected it to be because I prepared myself for it. Freshmen should spend as much time as they can studying. They should talk to their professor and get help when they need it. They shouldn’t let anything distract them are get in the way of the test, stay focused.

ReplyDelete2.On the U.S. history midterm, the best advice I can give is to READ THE TEXT of whatever book the exam is going to cover. It is extremely hard to answer to essay questions about a book that u have not read. As far as the AWS midterm goes, all you have to do is STUDY! All the material on the test came directly from the study guide. If you review the study guide, you will do extemely well.
@ Lyniece Catalan
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that you are the only person who got all of your studying out of the way. Please share your unique methods of studying.
@ Destiny
Don't be afraid to speak up and tell Ms. Harrison if you need extra help. She is a wonderful person and I am sure she will be more than willing to assist you.
@Chillia
ReplyDelete2.

ReplyDelete2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams
ReplyDelete2.
Aeryka Harvey
ReplyDelete1.
ReplyDeleteI prepared more for some mid - terms then I did for others.
1) Misha,
ReplyDeleteI heard about that AWS exam I know that it was really hard but if it makes you feel better no one did all thta well on our AWS exam.
2)Aeryka Harvey,
Great advice I agree.
3)Dominique Bryant,
Well i'm glad that some one was prepared for their mid - terms!
1.) I reviewed practice problems for chemistry class. In biology I went over my notecards and for AWS I read a few selections to reinforce what I learned in class.
ReplyDelete2.) Advice that I would give to a freshman is to not wait until the last minute and try to cram for everything because you will probably ned up doing poorly on everything.
ReplyDelete2.

Bianca Young
ReplyDelete1)Going over the midterm materials on a regular basis I begin fully understanding the information.
ReplyDelete2)I would tell incoming freshman to work hard in the beginning of the semester, to make easier the transition versus trying to study and work at the end of the semester/year. And also tell him/her that its okay to be socially diversified on campus. You don't have to sit at the same table and talk only to the same people day in and day out. Network, Socialize, get to know people, and allow people to get to know you. you never know what experiences you might be blessed with, just by talking with someone new.
Christopher Ragas
ReplyDelete1.
Christopher Ragas
ReplyDeleteTo Bianca, yes you should never try to cram it only works for certain short term things.
to Cherelle, you were lucky teachers gave you answers because I know one teacher would not budge in giving you a hint about thier exam.
To Misha: Yes definitely share your answers with friends but you dont need the book if you know someone who has it a different day really...
1) I wasn't to prepared for my mid terms, I studied but the things I didn't understand I didn't use my resources I shouldve went to my teachers during there office hours and got help so I could get a better understanding of certain topics
ReplyDelete2) I would tell a new freshman use the resources Dillard offers you, meet with your teachers during there office hours, for chemistry I would tell them use their printed notes if you have Miss.Caston and read your chemistry book and go through the examples, they have step by step guides and for english use annotating when you don't understand a reading presented it helps you to comprehend better.
Mid-Term Exams for me where sort of easy. Basically what you needed to do was study, study, study. If you didnt study then it would be hard. For one of my exam was itwas hard but i managed to get pass the hard part.
ReplyDelete2.The advice I would give a freshmen is to study and read. Read the chapter over and over again and review your notes.
Chardai Grays
ReplyDelete1) I was prepared for midterms. Most of my classes had review sessions that week in order to make sure the students pass. Therefore midterm week was easy in a sense.
2) I will tell freshman that they need to study ahead of time. Don't wait unitl the last minute.
1. For mid-terms I plan to study hard and effectively.
ReplyDelete2.My AWS mid-term is going to be the hardest exam and I do not believe that I am well prepared for it. I think that I am going to ace my biology mid-term
To De'ja Laure' Hawkins, i do agree with what you said about that you should have went talked to your teacher. And i understand where your coming from when you say you study but didnt really understand.
ReplyDeleteTo Christopher Ragas i agree with your stratgy in reading & going over your notes
Angell Luter
ReplyDelete1.
You will find yourslef unprepared for these exams.
preperation for my midterms was alot of stduying and tutoring with my teachers for math and for spanish
ReplyDeleteone thing i can say to new freshmen is dont wait to late to get your tutoring done
angell i beleive that studying hard three times a day is a good idea. also when you study make sure it is a enviroment that is comfortable with no distractions
ReplyDeletejaimee renee you are right your notes should be your best friend when it comes to you and and test they will defintely help out
ReplyDelete1) My preparedness for my mid-term is make sure I understand all the information a day before the test. I plan to study or work with someone that can help with something I may need help with.
ReplyDelete2)MY first mid-term exam was really easy new freshmens should make sure they have all their books and supplies they may need for all class.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete2)AWS and English was the to that i was nervous about.Mid Term exams was an eye opener to many freshmens.I think that it is best to go and talk to your teachers about the course.

1.) As midterm week approached, i became slightly anxious, not knowing what to expect, yet and still i remained focus and studied my material and most of my outcomes were what i wanted or better.
ReplyDelete2.) I would encourage new freshman not to takje this period lightly at all.I woiuld try to get them to understand that passing midterms with a good grade is very critical, and the worse you do during midterm, the harder you would havce to work just to pass a course, let alone get an A or B.
I strongly agree with you Bianca.
ReplyDelete1) When midterms came i was scared and began to doubt my abilities, moreso becuase i do not enjoy taking tests. I constantly reviewed and read over my materials to prepare myself for the tests.
ReplyDelete2)I would encourage freshman to begin studying and looking at test materials way before the test comes.
1. I was born ready for my midterm. I study every single day so i know the majority of the material that is going to be on the midterms.
ReplyDelete2.
To Rayon Landry,
ReplyDeleteThat is a good strategy going into the midterm by studying right before it and it is just as important to study it everyday.
To Shei-Duh,
Its normal to be scared during midterms because you may never know what to expect on the test.
To Andy Feith,
That is a great strategy that i use till this day.
1.) As mid-terms approached I really didnt know what to expect so i ws somewhat excited to take my first college midterms. I basically when over my notes and everything we did in class. Staying focus and strving for a A was my main motivation.
ReplyDelete2.Some tips to freshman on taking exams:
1. Don't be nervous
2. Think of it as another test
3. Study but not to much; to much studying can lead to failure
@ Dominque Bryant: I agree, it is not a good idea to cram the night before an exam.
ReplyDelete@ Ekebnta Okorn: As exam week apporched I was also i bit anxious.
@ Felisha Rideau: Great tips!!
I think that felisha had some good, helpful study tips for not only freshman, but people (like myself) that HATE tests.

1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams.
ReplyDeleteI will be in the library and stuck in my room training my brain for the days of my tests.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteto mikcal todd
ReplyDeleteyea it is true if you cram all of your info then you will fail. freshman lean the info now and dont wait till later to do it.
but what kind of studying do you do Ms. Conners. i want to know because in the future it may help me.
ReplyDelete1. Get help in subjects needed, visit the writing center often, talk to professors, study hard, get a good sleep, and eat a good breakfast.

1. My prepardness for midterms was not as good as I thought I did not achieve the grades I expected or thought I would recieve. I think I should of studied a lot harder.
ReplyDelete2. Advice I would give a new freshman is to STUDY HARD also go to tutoring and get close to your professors they are there to helpful. As well as take advantage of all the respources available thats what your tution is paying for.

1.Share your thoughts or preparedness for Mid-Term Exams.
ReplyDeleteI am stressed out and the clases are not easy
2.Reflect on at least 2 Mid-Term Exams, what advice would you give a new freshmen about being successful on those exams
study a head of time
to prepare for my mid terms i pretty much just went over all the material that had been covered so far.
ReplyDeletethe advice i would give a new freshman is to just relax and dont get all worked up over your test because then you'll bomb them.
1. To prepare for my midterms, I tried to stay as calm as possible because I know that I can get very stressed out when it comes to testing. I went over all my notes and previous tests thoroughly the night before and the morning of each exam.
ReplyDelete2. Dont let the test take you! Stay calm and focus. The test may not be as difficult as you may think. If you follow the material given in class daily, the tests will be a breeze.
